Resort Living

The inspiration for this project was to create a modern outdoor/ living pool area that integrated into the house creating seamless indoor-outdoor flow, resort living.

The clients for this project were a family of four who wanted a pool for swimming and an outdoor area for entertaining.

Due to their busy life the new landscape had to be low maintenance. They wanted a living space that felt like they were on vacation.

The materials needed to be hardwearing and suitable for a pool surround.

Blasted & brushed Imperial sandstone was used to tile the outdoor area.

The block & plaster planter walls were to remain along with the three Magnolia trees which bordered the planter in the reserve.

Outdoor lighting was a requirement for entertaining.

Artificial turf for easy care and appearance which would create a hard-wearing play space for the children and small family dog.

The work undertaken by South Pacific Landscapes was the design, all hard and soft landscaping including irrigation & artificial turf installation.

Planting Design:

The planting design was to be a simple palette of lush green hedging to complement the existing hedging and trees. 

A formal look was desired by the clients.

Plant Selection:

Classic Griselinia hedges provided a lush backdrop to the boundary fences and Liriope grasses & annuals provided a bright splash of colour which could be changed out depending on the season to provide all year interest.
